I love Green Herons. The blue-green colors complementing the dark red. The yellow legs are striking.
They are stalkers and will wait patiently to catch a fish. They are known to use “tools” to lure fish to them – like dropping a piece of leaf to trick minnows into feeding.
Despite their small size – their neck extends quite impressively when they go for a fish.
